FIVE QUESTIONS: JEFF JOHNSON + PATAGONIA | BY LONDON RED

Jeff Johnson is soft spoken, rugged and very manly. If you happen to see him, he's probably barefoot and grinning with a Leica camera in hand. He's a surfer, photographer, writer and climber. Often recognized from his lead role the film, 180º South Conquerors of the Useless, a film by Farm League and Patagonia.
Originally from California, Johnson is great friends with and practically one the Malloy Brothers. Chris, Dan and Keith Malloy are the adventuring kind who surf, make films, take photos & inspire the world.

I first came across Johnson while watching 180º South on my bedroom floor. I was instantaneously captivated by his soothing voice and his story. From that moment on, I was hooked. We met back in 2012 during a Patagonia shoot with Kim Diggs. He's been a kind mentor, always willing to lend a helping hand on my projects and causes. This little interview is a shout out to Mr. Johnson, keep livin', keep photographing and keep being your wonderful, true self. The world adores you, thank you for everything.

"My wife, my Leica Monochrom camera, possibilities."

AVERAGE DAY FOR YOU:
"Wake up at 5 AM, make coffee and read/write, hug my wife a few times when she wakes up, walk our dog, work, surf if there are waves, climb if I'm near any climbing, make sure my bare feet touch the ground at least once a day."

PLACE YOU GO TO RELAX:
"Yosemite Valley, Joshua Tree, Hawaii, on the floor in our living room."
